How do I prevent the 'short description' from displaying?

Default How do I prevent the 'short description' from displaying?
When browsing items in a category/sub-cat... I would like to prevent the short description from showing -- Also, there is a SKU field (to sort by SKU #) but, I cannot see the product SKUs that are entered.
