Default Is there a way I can add a group of subcategories to another

Is there a way I can take a group of items from a specific subcategory (of say 100 items at once) and add them all to a second subcategory too, without going through each one, one by one? I really don't want to go through 800 items one by one to add it to a second subcategory. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If they are all goin in the same subcategory, you can do it in your csv fairly easily...then just reimport your products...

Ok, I haven't had the best of luck with importing CVS files, even the same one, lol; was hoping there was another way. Thanks though.

I have an inventory pricing mod that will do this. It's meant to change prices when adding products to a category, but you can use it to do what you want to do by requesting $0 change in price. It will auto add the new category to a free category in the products or you can force it to add to a specific categoryid (categoryid, categoryid1, categoryid2, categoryid3).

I hope all of that makes sense. Might be a bit over kill for what you want, but you may find it useful too for changing your prices in the future.

Let me know if you have questions on it. Otherwise you'll have to use some mysql queries to do what you want to do.

My website link is below and http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=9823 will give you some discount coupons for this mod.

Just wanted to say thanks on this, and I highly recommend it for anyone; I had it installed in about 1 minute, very easy too. Thank you so much, you just made my life a lot easier.

Just a word of caution, don't try that, it seems you have to make some price change because mine reverted to my wholesale prices. But on the other side of the coin, the script makes it very easy to go back.

Thank you for reporting this!! It's a small bug. I'll send you the updated code.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The script makes it very easy to revert back for what it's worth.
