i want to hide part of the site when me users go to either my static pages for help pages, what if statement do i need to use in my templates to do this ?

Open skin1/customer/home.tpl and find the line

<!-- main area -->

after this line, insert this code

{if $main eq "pages"}
    {include file="customer/home_main.tpl"}
{else}

now scroll down and find

{include file="rectangle_bottom.tpl" }

and ABOVE this insert this line:

{/if}
