I am working on optimizing the main.css on our new 4.2 install.
If I remove all of this type of entry
/*================================================= =============================
layout styles
================================================== ============================*/
/* page container */


will it help any speeding up the file download.

I realize that this by itself won't be enough, but every little thing helps.

Those are just comments, so yes you can remove them. Will have little to no effect though, as the stylesheet is cached after its first page load.

Define 'optimize'?
