Show specific subcategories inside welcome.tpl

Default Show specific subcategories inside welcome.tpl
I need to show a list of subcategories that are inside category #477 on my site, but display them inside my welcome.tpl page. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

You could just put a link in txt_welcome or in welcome.tpl itself.

My apologies, let me be more specific. I need to DYNAMICALLY generate the subcategories inside welcome.tpl, and i don't know the smarty logic to do so.

It seems to me that you want to include subcategories.tpl (or a clone of it) specifying category #477 instead of the root. Try going to category #477 and paying attention to what is in the browser bar, this should be what you specify as the root. I'm not sure if it will work, but its a starting point.
