![]() Dez, you really need to learn to use Webmaster Mode, it will tell you exactly where everything is. Manual actually covers its use pretty well.

![]() You need to delete the dingbats code from each respective template, e.g. skin1/customer/categories.tpl and remove this
dingbats="dingbats_categorie.gif" from the last line. Or just remove the img code from skin1/menu.tpl if you want to remove all dingbats. To help you find the right templates, use Webmaster mode from admin.

I had a pop up issue with Firefox and when i fixed it the debugging screen came up and it was a big help to have that open to find files. Quote:

![]() ok, I had just removed dingats gifs and of course that just created more problems!
Now, I commented out the dingbats from the menu.tpl and that solved the problem-- however, I see the recommendation to "remove"-- is this necessary rather than to just "comment out"? (thanks for this thread-- I also hated those dingy bats!)

![]() It doesn't make much difference - both have the same effect in the end.
However, for cleaner code you are best removing it totally - chances of you ever wanting dingbats put back are quite low I think! Commenting out is great to check the effect of a change if you want to put it back shortly - but otherwise remove it, and then next time you edit the template, it's not so confusing. Of course always keep a backup though.
