If I ahve two search forms on the same page, one at the top and one at the bottom, the search button doesn't work. I can hit enter to retreive search results tho.

Any one know how I can have 2 search forms on the same page?

These search forms must have the different names.

what do you mean by different name? search.tpl and search2.tpl or the actual form name in the code?

ok... got it to work... is it possible to have the form return categories instead of individual products?

It isn't possible by default. However it's possible to implement. I made such modification in the past.
