I need to add a couple of extra fields that are pull-down menus instead of the simple text fields. Is this possible? I found another thread where the solution was to use Product Options/Variants. This won't work because that is product-specific. And, this data is ONLY for the admin.
If any of you know an easy solution, I'd really appreciate it!

Afraid this would need to be custom coded.

Wow - that is pretty lame. I would think this should easily be a standard feature, one that almost everyone could benefit from. That's too bad...

Extra fields are meant to be pieces of text that display on the product detail page of a product. Not really sure what a drop-down would gain you in this instance, but like I said, it can be custom coded.

I need to have a good and easy way to mark a product as being oversized or not, as well as if it needs to be shipped on a semi or not.

That would be pretty easy to customize, you just need to set a field in the database and add a checkbox to the product modify screen in the admin to flag it. Extra fields aren't really the best bet for that. I'd ask Qualiteam for a quote, or post in the Pro Services - Requests forum.

Well, if extra fields had the option of adding checkboxes or pull-down menus, it would make this task ultra easy.

Ok, but again, that is not what they were designed for

I have to agree, Creativ, I was looking for the same answer and it seems that rather than adding a single page entitled "Oils" and allowing a customer to just choose which scented oils in a drop down menu, I now need to create 50 seperate pages so my clients can order them.
I am quickly learning to hate this program.

Um...Lula, you are posting in an X-Cart thread, and your signature suggests you are using LiteCommerce. I don't know about LC, but what you are talking about is handled by product options in X-Cart, not extra fields. So yes, you create a product with multiple options for the scents, not 50 pages of products.
