can someone tell how i go about adding a hyperlink to an image i have on my home page
been looking but see anything

Ok, I think perhaps first you should get yourself a good book on html/css, as you will need it if you plan to run an X-Cart store The O'Reilly books are great, available on amazon.com.

Next, have a look at this thread, which explains how the template editing process works:

Essentially what you need to do is find the template with the image, and add the html code for a link, as I posted above.

thanks Balinor yes think i need to do some reading i have some on php/mysql are they no good

You really don't need to know PHP/MySQL to run a store...but you definitely need a good grasp on html/css and Smarty (the template language X-Cart uses).
