Everyone seems to talk about how they have a checkbox to sign up for newsletter by default on the registration page. I have modified my store so much that I have forgotten if I ever had this, or how I removed it.

Can someone please tell me how to reinstate it?

Look at your original template files in skin1_original. I believe the code resides in customer/main/register.tpl

Balinor, I just overwrited the original register.tpl with my current one to see if it appears, but it didn't. I have newsletters enabled in the module options, and I have created an active newslette but no joyr.

This is the code that should be in there:

{if $active_modules.News_Management and $newslists}
{include file="modules/News_Management/register_newslists.tpl" userinfo=$userinfo}
{/if}

You also have to make sure that you have YES selected in all the little dropdowns in the newslist you have set up.
