Hi,
i would like to make my newsletter subscription (in the register form) checked and hidden. Where can i change that?

That is totally illegal...customers need to physically opt in for you to send them e-mail.

i've heard that, when people are buying a product, they are seen as customers and you are allowed to send your customers addressed promotion material.

Nope, if you are going to send them something unrelated to their purchase (i.e. a newsletter) they have to physically sign up for it. Trust me, you DO NOT want to send them a newsletter without asking them about it first.

If it's in your T&C then perhaps you can get around the legality of it - but believe me you WILL P**S people off by automatically subscribing them enough for them to not come back to you and we all know a repeat customer is a good customer.
