How do I drop this from the site?

Goto :

skin1\customer\main\product.tpl

And look for this code:

{include file="customer/main/send_to_friend.tpl" }

And just delete that line or uncomment it like:

{*{include file="customer/main/send_to_friend.tpl" }*}

could this be a candidate for addition to a faq topic?

I was searching for the exact same thing yesterday and eventually figured it out anyway. 2 people on one day...the obvious sometimes isn't obvious when your mind gets in a rut

An even more useful thing would be to have a checkbox in admin to control whether this was turned on or not... just like the reviews, bestsellers, etc.
