I want to edit my checkout process allot of people actually want to do this so I created this thread as a starting point to gather helpful info for me and other users to use in this struggle.

First thing needed, can someone tell me what are the main template files that will have to be edited to change the look and flow of the checkout process?

I would like all users that come across this post to leave bits of info that they have so that we can collectively create a mod of some sort to fix the way the checkout works and looks.

Allot of people love this mod http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?t=12539&highlight=check+cheque I like it allot myself just can't afford it right now but hopefully through the help of user on the forum I can create something that will be similar that we all can use.

they are basically all in skin1/customer/main - they all have fairly obvious names such as checkout.tpl cart.tpl anonymous_checkout.tpl
