Right now, I have version 4.4.5

installed and I'm sort looking on how to upgrade to 4.4.6 or even if I should.
(And will I lose all the changes I made to my skins tpl files and to the common_files ones?)

I don't believe 4.4.6 is available yet. You won't lose the changes but you may have to manually patch files that have been changed.

You might want to look at the other thread in the News area that describes the major changes in the new version and decide if it affects you. If those changes don't affect you or you can make adjustments to work with them then you definitely should continue to upgrade to ensure you are on the latest version with the latest bug fixes.
