I am trying to find a code that will allow me a background coulur starting dark on top, and then fading out to white. Like you can see it in the background of this site:

Any ideas?

Just be sure to set the page background color to the lowest color else it'll look weird.

I created a graphic similar to the one on hispasonic. placed it in the image folder, and added it to the background. But somehow it repeates.

Any idea where/how to stop this repeat?

background-repeat: repeat-x;

Put that in your html,body css div. Also, use some image program and find the bottom color of the image and set it as the background color.
