can't save templates

I'm trying to edit my ..skin1/mail/html/signature.tpl from within x-cart, but I keep getting a "File operation is failed" error.

I chmod that directory and all the files to 777 because I figured it was a permissions problem. That didn't help. Any ideas?

Make sure you are the owner of the files you are trying to change...

if i make them 777 shouldn't that cover it?

Not necessarily, no. Can you edit them via FTP?

Hi balinor,

Is there a solution to this problem? Editing via FTP works, but it's much easier to do it within x-cart.

Its a trade off. While it may be easier to edit within x-cart if you make a mistake there is no "fall back" to what you had before you made the changes other than the original file. Depending on how many changes were made from the original this could be a problem.
