i would lik help adding is.

drop down menu with Blue, Red, Green, Xenon White as the options

now i have loads of products to add so would like to have it perminiant in the products.tpl under quantity so thats it always there when i i add a product

but i would like a check box on the add products page to disable the above mod just incase i add a product thats does not have colour variations

Afraid it doesn't work that way - you would need to have this custom developed.

bummer just i got over 4000 products to add and 3500 of them all got colour variants

any surgestion without doing this clone and this product options

Use CSV importing - you can copy the option to every product in 2 seconds in Excel and then mass import everything in one fell swoop. One by one is NOT the way to add products in X-Cart if you have more than 10. There is an excellent manual on importing, you can find it in your help desk area (they have removed the 4.1 manuals from the X-Cart site for some odd reason)
