Default removing cart features

I'd like to use xcart as a catalogue only. (no cart features) so initally I need to remove the "your cart" and "authentication" menus from the home.php page ( I think). (need I add that I'm very new at this??). Can anyone help or direct me to a former thread?

you would need to look at home.tpl file in the skin1 folder and use comment tags to remove the items you dont need.

Thanks, that info solved most of the problem. I'm still stuck on hiding the text that says "Options" and the quantity drop down box.

I needed the same thing on my xcart, but wanted it to be very easy to undo. So instead of a Enter Price box coming up when the product price is бё0.00 it puts a 'Call for price' on it and also disables the 'Add to Cart' button and put Call to order on it instead. Works quite good ..
