![]() in customer/main/welcome.tpl, comment out:
{include file="customer/main/featured.tpl" f_products=$f_products} OR -- simply comment out the entire contents of customer/main/featured.tpl And featured products will never show. OR -- you can simply disable featured products in your admin. There are many ways to make it go away.

![]() Categories Management
For each category or sub-cat, you can assign, activate or deactivate featured products. On a per-category basis. Go to /admin/categories.php This is the fastest way to disable featured products -- simply don't assign any!

![]() sorry, just want to clarify, I don't assign any products as featured,...in fact, I dont' have any products at all.
In the interest of keeping content item links and categories on 1 single menu, I create content the same way i create a category, then i list my content in the category description.. see here: http://www.canadianthreadall.com/home.php?cat=9

![]() You shouldn't be using category pages for this ---
Use static embedded and put the page link into your categories or products menu. Are you selling anything? If you're not using the "cart" aspects, why not use a less complex environment for your site? There's LOTS of overhead in a shopping cart that if not used, can simplify things for you by 95%... you could use Joomla or any number of content systems, IF you don't need a "buy now" or "add to cart". Are you going to be selling your products? It looks like your customers are other businesses... and it looks like your products are all custom made to order, yes? You don't need a shopping cart - just a good content management system. X-Cart could work, but you're dragging a ton of overhead along for the ride. Good luck. Jeremy

I shouldn't be using categories for this, I know...but it is a much easier way to have a single menu with links to both content and products under one menu. I don't want to have a different menu for products than i do for content links. I most definately will have products to add to the cart....lots of them.

![]() I've read the pages in the manual, if there is a featured product, you can de-select "active" and it won't show up, what you will have is an empty box saying there are no featured products...you cannot de-activate this and save the change from modifying the cat.
Please, I know it's a diferent way of doing this, I just really, really need to know how to remove any reference to that dang box @ the bottom of every page saying that there are no featured products,.
