Default Product Edit Template

Guys-

My categories have grown quite a bit and I need to edit the layout in the admin console when adding or editing a product. I would like to increase the size of the box that contains the list of categories. Does anyone when know where this template is located/or it's name and maybe how to increase the size of the category select box in the product add/edit section of the admin console?

Hey Mike, just open up the admin side in webmaster mode, find the template in question and increase the size of the 'select' box. Moving this to Template Editing.

Thanks...I realize this will work on the "customer front end" but I am talking about the admin side....the page that is used to add or edit products. I haven't uncovered how to use webmaster mode on the admin console.

Not sure what you mean...when you go into webmaster mode, it is in the admin side by default. You have to actually click the 'open customer side in new window' link to go to the customer side...

I am trying to edit the screen you get when you are in the admin console-add product

Which is www.yourdomain.com/xcart/admin/product_modify.php

to the best of my knowledge, webmaster mode does not assist with editing anything in the admin console itself. Am I wrong?

Wembaster mode gives you a debug console, which shows you which template is which, both in the admin area and the customer area. When you open webmaster mode, you are in the admin area. Simply follow the links to the page where you edit a product, and the pop-up box will allow you to see which template is which. You don't actually edit the code here, this is simply a tool to let you know which template you need to edit. Once you find it, you simply edit the proper template.

Yup, your right...it will work with the admin side too. I gave it a whirl but could not find a .tpl listed for the additional categories box....I see the main category selector.tpl but nothing calling the additional....which is the box i am trying to enlarge.

Found it!

It's in "/main/product_details.tpl". Default value is 8. Changed it so I can more at a time...since we have 20-some hundred. Thanks!
