Just a quick question.

As all my template folders and files are in /skin1/ can i ask if anything is pulled from the older /skin1_original/customer/main/order_message.tpl

And whilst on the subject does anything get pulled from it as it just sits there gathering dust

skin1_original is the backup/original folder...nothing from the live store gets pulled from there. it is there in case you botch something up, you can restore the original
