Default HTML getting stripped in txt_welcome

I went to make a small change in the welcome text, I hit apply changes, and all the HTML tags get removed. They were in there and have been working for the last 3 years. I just needed to add one word and all the test runs together, no paragraphs, no bolding no colors etc.

I tried to edit the welcome.tpl file but the same thing happend. When I went to save it all the <> etc. got removed.

I'm stuck. I wish I could tell you what version of x-cart it is, but I have no idea. It's at least 3 years old. I've searched the admin sections for a version but can't find one anywhere.

If it is that old, you may want to open a ticket with X-Cart, as it is tough to tell what the issue is.
