![]() I had no desire to learn PHP or Smarty when I purchased X-cart. I purchased X-cart to give me more time to work. But the problems I have had and my limited budget is making me aware that I need to learn both quickly. I can't afford to go another weekend with my site down.
I purchased "Dreamweaver MX: PHP Web Development" should I begin with it or can I even use Dreamweaver with the smarty? Any advise on a crash course appreciated. Thanks,

![]() That book is really geared towards the use of DMWX so wont be much use specifically with hand coding PHP or Smarty although there will be some useful info in it.
Not aware of a Smarty IDE I am afraid. Best resource on Smarty is http://smarty.php.net and PHP books are plentiful. It should not be too difficult to learn enough to make some basic modifications to xcart. ![]()
