Can I add a link to an external style sheet for the send to a friend and other html emails? I know how to do this normally but when I tried to modify the templates to add html so I could include my link to the style sheet ... I ended up with duplicate HTML in the email that arrived. When I checked the mail_header.tpl, I did not see any body or head tags there at all. Where do the html email templates pick up the head and html tags from? Has anyone made this work?

pretty sure there is a main mail file that has a header and footer

Yes there is but it seems the only way to apply css to the file is if you embed it in-line, which is never my preference. For whatever reason, I cannot get the email that is sent out to recognize the path to the extrernal css file, or, less of a problem, external images either.
