Default Boxes round products

Can someone point me to a post that may answer my question please?

All I want to do is to put a simple box ( border, frame or whatever ) around the products. I don't even need rounded corners or anything fancy ... jus ta plain ans dimple border.

Despite many searches I've now given up in frustration. I don't think I'm searching correctly. I know this question must have been answered lots of times. It may just be that I'm using the wrong syntax, the wrong name for something like that.

I've seen postings where moderators have ticked off people for not searching but I HAVE searched but can't find what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Pete

So you want boxes around the products on the category/sub-category pages, correct? Do you have a 1 column layout or a multi-column product layout?

The page I'm referring to is the one that shows all the products for a given category our sub catogory (I think we are referring to the same thing )

I have 3 columns showing.

Ok, then you will want to open up customer/main/products_t.tpl. Each of the products are in a table cell. The easiest way to get a border is to just give each cell a border color. You can add this bit of code to the <td>:

style="border: 1px solid #cccccc;"

Replace #cccccc with the actual hex color you want to use. Play with the cellpadding and cellspacing of the table itself to achieve the effect you want.

Thanks for this. My site now looks a lot nicer.

It's so easy when you know how. The problem is learning how to do it, knowing the EXACT term to search for and finding it.

Shame it's not a standard feature.
