Let's say I wanted to create an all new page, then insert the include for for what I want to include in the content area. Can this be done?

let me explain a little more. Say I have a site, and site navigation. Instead of using the 'categories' as navigation, I point to a page from my navigation, then the page it lands on will have the x-cart content, say a product listing page.

Does this make any sense?

My experience with x-cart is limited, what I have been taught up to this point is we customize the home.tpl. This works fine for I had done. On this new site, I want different headers to be displayed based on where you are on the site, different content area images, etc... not just one central 'store'

You can use {if} statements to display different content/graphics based on where you are in the store...is that what you mean?

Yeah, I was thinking about that - probably easier - except that I have to learn the if tags, and smarty tags, and php... I guess I was hoping for a more simple html way...

But yeah, depending on the categorie you're on, I'd like a specific header graphic to be shown, along with some content area specific graphics

Is there a good link to learn these 'if' statements? I'm sure with enough beer in me I can learn anything

Yeah, I read that. I bit over my head, but I kninda understand it.

I guess what I need to do is something like 'if cat id=x then display header1'
