I have come up with a custom design for our cart in Frontpage and I am asking for advice on implementing this design into the templates. Should I base the implementation around the templates or the templates around the design? I.e. should I make my own templates or should I try to fit it into the exisiting skin1 templates?

Which one would be easier to upgrade when new versions come out? Thanks.

Just edit the existing template accordingly, although I wouldn't cut and paste code form Frontpage as it will mess up the code royally. Just use the images and alter the existing tables as needed.

Hi All ! ... does anybody knows how can I modify the design easy without learning those codes ? I need to modify it fast...
Can I copy the site from ftp to computer, modify it as I wish(design) and upload it back ? What program shoul I use for that? Frontpage or Macromedia Dreamworks should do it ? I have a deadline and must modify it fast. I have asked it before and now I wish a advice. I instaleld the Smarty in macromedia and still trying ..

If you are going to modify the default skin yourself you are going to have to edit the templates - unfortunately x-cart has a bit of a steep learning curve. If you don't want to take that on then your options are to buy an x-cart skin which just require installation, or get someone who knows x-cart to install/modify your own design.
