Help: Parse Error

Default Help: Parse Error
I was editing a template file ('head.tpl'). I'm experienced in doing this. I upload the modified template, set "var $compile_check = true;" in 'Smarty.class.php' and everything falls apart.

All pages show the following error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/hallowee/public_html/templates_c/%%31^318^318F27E1%%dialog.tpl.php on line 3

I've deleted the contents of "template_c", I've run 'cleanup.php'. No change.

This is setup (2) in my sig.

Why are you messing with Smarty.class.php? Have you tried setting that to false?

Balinor, the problem is resolved. I'm still not sure what happened and how it came to be fixed. I suspect some sort of file corruption during FTP.
