Does anyone have a mod or know how to mod x-cart so you can have the categories as tabs on the top (head) as well as having it on the left menu?

If you're categories don't change very often then you can hard code them into the head.tpl (or create a new tpl beneath that) as straight links.

The way that I have done this, is by putting the categories into a table and have it repeat the <td> contents for each category. Apply a style to the <td> so that it shows a background image of the tab and a conditional so that it the $cat variable eq that one it has a different style (and thus a different background image)
