Default Graphic Prototypes questions.

Is the XC Graphic Prototype not a true skin? Then what's the difference between this and a skin and why are the GPs so expensive? Is there anyone out there with a live store using one of these that they can post a link to? Are they worth the money?

Thanks!

how much are they? They def not a skin. They are a PSD that you have to integrate into the skin. Totally different.

Thanks Ash. I know how much they are but I'm wondering why they are so expensive and if anyone out there considers them worth the cost. Although they are a .psd file, isn't the end result the same as if they were a skin?

They are like $17 aren't they? That's not expensive. Now if you want QT to integrade them into your store then it gets expensive. But you can buy one for $17 and do it yourself or hire someone to do it if it's cheaper then QT

Thanks cfl. By "so expensive" I am referring to the QT installation prices. I realize the psd would integrate into an existing skin and the QT prices are probably fair enough for this. Correct me if I'm wrong but the end result would be just as if a new skin had been installed, right?. The prototypes do look great but compared to skins (with installation), they are very pricey. It would be good if XC would post a demo site or two to get a feel for how they operate.

It is a PSD file so they slice it and use images where appropriate and css classes but yes at the end will be just like new skin had been installed
