Help with border images

Hi all very new to this stuff..
And thought i would try it out on my own..

I have figured out alot of it by reading here..

But the next step i need to work on i cant seam to figure out where to even look..

I have a layout that i already have used on my other non xcart site..

You can see that the borders are missing..
what i would like to do is move the menu boxes closer in and be able to add the borders on the left and right to go all the way down to the bottom and line up correct...

Any help would be great..

Like i said very new to this and trying to learn on my own..

customer/main.tpl

This is your main layout tpl for the body of the website. Just add the code for the graphics on the side.

Hi there
sorry i forgot to update my cart version in my profile..

i have 4.1.0
and there is no main.tpl
Only in customer/main/
but there is only 1 line of code in this file..

Instead of " you have the html ", you need to change these to regular quotations. I assume this happened because you were using a WYSIWYG editor.

Also, the smarty compiler is pretty good about telling you where and what you errors are. If you see the error message, you should try to go to that line in the tpl, and you will probably find the error.

For some reason I am also having a problem with borders not showing up.

We had started with v4.1 which I had partially modified prior to finding out that it wasn't a stable release. The work I did on those templates and css showed my borders just fine.

However after deleting that install and installing v4.0.18 I cannot get a border to show up regardless of how it is called. I have borders all through my css, I have tried adding them in tables as well as the td line.

Regardless of what I do, they won't show up. I have tried from the rectangle top, menu, header, search, and several other templates all with the same result - no borders.

Is there something simplae I am overlooking that could be preventing the borders from appearing?
