![]() what is webmaster safe mode? Is this causing my problems to edit templates and CHMOD. Here's my question. How come I can edit templates using the admin section of my cart, but trying to delete, replace or edit the templates or files using FTP program or host control panel gives me access denied. ????

![]() If im not mistaked webmaster safemode can be used to have a cart in demo mode so that potential Xcart customers can look around all parts of the store but cant make any changes that could break anything

![]() Hey, thanks, I am just having this problem and I'm trying to get to the bottom, do you know how to turn the safe mode off or on if there is such a thing? Also, I compiled my stuff into English the other day, would that mess up my ability to edit my own cart from FTP ?

![]() Safe_mode is a setting in php configuration and could be altered by your host. If you have yuor own server I could change it for you otherwise you will need to either ask your host to change it or try a new host.
This would have nothing to do with editing files via ftp. Who is your host anyway ?

![]() Can you help me? How come I can edit via my admin section, but not via FTP? FTP tells me there is a permissions problem. Does my admin user and pass give me more permissions some how? My FTP is out of my control only for the x-cart files.

![]() Hi,
I had the same problem. It appears that the files are owned by the webserver and not the user, so get your web host to change the permissions to the user (you) instead of the webserver and all will work via FTP. :P |
