Default What Does The Variable $newbie Mean?
I can't find where this variable is created or assigned. Help!

It means a non-registered customer. Please put your x-cart version in your signature per the forum rules.

So what is the difference between $login, $registered, and $newbie then?

as it says

$login = user logged in
$registered = user registered
$newbie = neither of the above

Still confused.

How can a person be logged in, but not registered? Also, if they are not logged in, how can we tell if they are registered? Isn't that the same thing?

Also, if they are not registered, doesn't that make them a newbie by default, so (if $registered == false) would be enough, not needing a new variable?
