How do I change the text at the top of the main store front page???? The bit that has the opening description or welcome in.

Im brand new to XCart and this may be novice stuff but I cant find it in the user manual.

Login to Admin, go to Languages, choose English (or whatever your default is, I'm assuming English ) and search for Text (apply filter):

txt_welcome

Just edit the bit in the value field.

BTW, put you version number in your signature as it helps get an answer quicker, some things are different between versions.
