![]() I am using Carrie's (BCSE) meta tag mod and love it....but I would like to do the same thing for categories and sub-categories.
Currently, the title of the category is the title of the page and since the title is only the category, I know I am missing keywords that would help these pages rank higher. With Carrie's mod, two fields (title, description) are added to each product and those are used to generate the title and meta description. I am not sure how to do that with categories and subcategories. Does anyone have an idea. I've read older posts in the forums but could not find something for the newer versions of X-Cart. Any help appreciated. Louise P.S. - I am running 4.012 on 2 sites in addition to 4.010 on BirdShopper.

![]() I am still looking for an answer to this issue. I would like each category title to be keyword rich and not just list the category name.
Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks, Louise

![]() Lets backup....let me rephrase the question....
With no modifications how can you add keyword rich text to the title of the category and subcategory pages so that it is dynamic...and doesn't just show: Product Name :: Category :: Shop Name Shop Name :: Category :: Product Name Thanks, Louise

![]() Like I said, contact Carrie as it requires a mod to be written.

![]() What I have done is write some if/then statements into the skin1/customer/home.tpl file.
They look like this: {if $product.product ne ''} {$product.product} {$category_name} - title of site if not in a specific category{/if} {if $cat eq '62'}title for this category{elseif $cat eq '1'}title for this category, etc{/if} That's the way I've been doing things - requires a bit of manual changes but has worked really well for our SE rankings ![]() Hope that helps....
