I have added an extra product option field called 'Custom ID' for each product.

The user customizes their product online and a unique number is generated.

I am able to display the unique number on screen with PHP.

How do I put/populate this unique number in to the product options field 'Custom ID'?

Example:

the {$smarty.get.key} I'm already using and it works great - outputs to the page - no problems

Would like to place this value in the product options field 'Custom ID'
