Webmaster mode has empty popup | |||

![]() We just got X-Cart and have been unsuccessful using Webmaster mode.
The popup editor box has nothing in it. Completely blank. You can see a screenprint image at http://www.randyboyd.com/xcart/xcart.htm (or until I remove it). Three computers have been tried (2-XP, 1-Win98, all IE6). None had active popup blockers. I tried one computer with Netscape 7 and couldn't get past the login screen to test Webmaster mode (message: 69.89.230.222\ could not be found.) We are not yet working with compiled templates or static pages. Using IE6, before Webmaster is started there are no page errors. Immediately after starting Webmaster, two errors occur on editor_mode.php: Line: 13 Char: 45 Error: Unterminated string constant Code: 0 URL: http://69.89.230.222//admin/editor_mode.php Line: 104 Char: 2 Error: 'catalogs' is undefined Code: 0 URL: http://69.89.230.222//admin/editor_mode.php After clicking on a word that is a variable, the Line: 104 error occurs two more times. IE6's "Internet Security" is set to "Medium". We tried "Low" on one computer and nothing changed. Any suggestions on how to get Webmaster mode to work?

Are any users of X-Cart Gold 4.0.x successfully using Webmaster Mode? Did you need to make any changes to get it to work? All suggestions are appreciated. Bullfrog

![]() Sorry, but we can't reproduce this in the fresh installation of 4.0.5. Could you specify the X-Cart version in which you have found this problem?

![]() In 4.0.4 webmaster mode worked for me. In 4.0.5, I can only change text language vs. having the debug console. Tried enabling it in general settings, but no avail.
Without the debug console, it is a pain to make template modifications .... One step forward, two steps backward. - Mike.//

![]() Your description sounds the same (or similar) as ours, except that we started with 4.0.5. Having no experience with previous versions, we thought we could have been doing something wrong.
Did you view the link to image of my popup? http://www.randyboyd.com/xcart/xcart.htm. Do you get a blank window with a title of "about:blank"?

![]() OK, I don't have any popup and that is probably because of some popup blocking setting somewhere. But, I was able to use the debug mode to see which templates are involved with items. Note: Only in IE as Firefox didn't work with debug.
That popup was a bit annoying anyways. Even more annoying than the "Green Color" for webmaster mode. Fortunately, it isn't something that one has to use over and over again. Try your popup/security settings - that may help. - Mike.//

![]() Maybe it is because your web browser block popup. Like: yahoo popup block, Win XP2 , etc.
I am able to use the web master mode on my XCart gold 4.0.5 without any problems.

I don't know why or how the "\\" got to be in the file, but removing them caused Webmaster Mode to work. Note that my X-Cart installation is in the root directory, unlike (I suppose) most installations where it is in the \xcart directory. If you are having this problem and your installation is not into the default directory, I suggest that you check these lines in config.php.
