just playing around with v 4.0.3 and having a fiddle with variants, i've set one of the variants to 0 quantity so that it shows out of stock for a colour, size combination, but it seems that the quantity drop down box goes like it's had too much billy whiz, have a look at the url and choose colour blue , size 34 and you will see what i mean!!!! any idea what might be causing this

ok sorry found the problem, i had the quantity of one of the variants set to 1000 so it went all the way through them until it got to the out of stock option.

It appears that if you have the quantity in the variant set then that is the amount it will show in the quantity dropdown box, does anyone know how to limit the quantity dropdown box to say 10 but still have in the variants more so that stock levels are correct but the customer is limited to buying 10 at a time.

Yeah, I noticed this too. You need to understand that the quantity of the variant is nothing more than the quanitity of the parent SKU. If you create a new SKU and in the Product Details portion you leave the default quantitity as 1000...your Variants will have that same value.

I manually edit the Variant quantity as needed to eliminate this issue on the customer front end (flipping out quantity pull down box). It's not a fix, but a work around.
