I'm using version 3.5.10. I have disabled the buy now button and would like to put an add to cart button in it's place. I thought I was slick and I could just copy and paste the code from the product.tpl to the products.tpl, but that did'nt work. The button showed up, but it did'nt add anything to the cart. Does anyone know the proper way to do this.?

edit customer/main/buy_now.tpl

find:

{include file="buttons/buy_now.tpl" style="button"}

change to:

{include file="buttons/add_to_cart.tpl" style="button"}

And re-enable buy now buttons in products.tpl or products_t.tpl

It would seem that logic eluded me on this one, I cant believe I did'nt think of that. Thanks Boomer, that's exactly what I needed.

is there a way to have a continue shopping button? I dont want customer click add to cart and only have the option of checking out? I applied the above code in 4.0.2 and it worked

Here is a link to a thread that will help you to add a continue shopping button. It's not perfect, but it works ok, I used it for a while.

You also have the option of not redirecting your customers to the cart in the general settings of your admin section.

Is there a way to have a customer redirect to a static html page after they hit "add to cart" ? I disabled redirect customer to cart and it just sends them back to categories. Thx
