Hi all,

With x cart 5 there is Theme Tweaker addon.

If I open the site with webmaster mode, and make changes to the code in x cart, I notice that changes are implemented.

1.

So if I update x cart 5 in future, are the changes still kept or will they be overriden?

2.

If I want to backup the specific changes made by theme tweaker (I think they are created as modules), where do I go to download the files as a backup?

Upgrades/updates won't affect your changes. In most cases it is a good thing, but sometimes (for example, if a file that you edited has changed in the newer version) you will have to adjust your changes to make them compatible with newer X-Cart versions.

Since there are database records that link custom template files, backing up only the files is not enough to recover them later.
You should create a full site backup (all files + the database) for archive purposes.

Hi,

So I use x cart 5 and Fashion House skin.

I am looking at my home page in webmaster mode and with "Layout Editor".

I have dragged the description block from the top of the page to lower down the page, above the footer, and clicked save.

It says "changes successfuly changed"

I cleared the cache in x cart admin section.

But when I view the site, there is no changes.

Do I have to do something else to enable the changes?

We cannot reproduce the problem locally. Please could you upload screenshots of how it looks like when you move the block down, and what happens after you click "Save"?
