![]() I have an X-Cart 4.1.9 store at the moment and the categories have IDs such as cat=1425.
X-Cart 5 does not use category IDs, it uses folders in the URL. I want to make sure that all the old links I have in Google and Yahoo will still work after I upgrade to X-Cart 5. |

![]() That will be complicated, why are you not using the seo friendly urls out of interest? They are better for google to pick up the keywords in your categories.

![]() You have to edit the .htaccess files and add custom rules to redirect visitors from the old "cat=xxx" URLs to the new ones.
Or you are to create a module for X-Cart 5 that allows you to specify the old URL for each category, and then redirects users from the old URLs automatically.
