Okay I did something. Not sure what. In fact, I didn't realize I changed anything at all BUT alas there is a change

I changed a line somewhere in a css that made a subcategory go wonky in both FF and IE8.
The prime example is on this page
http://www.baby-land.com/store/On-The-Go.html

In ff and IE8 it's all block form but in Chrome it displays the way I want it to.

yes I have and am using firebug and I can't see it. Ugh!!
someone please, find it in your hearts to point me to the right direction

Your class "subcategories" is missing. It floats all subcats left so they appear next to each other

So would I find this in my main.css? I hate being a bonehead about this but I was thrown into the deep end with learning all this stuff. The fact that I haven't drown yet is a miracle at best.
