I've already looked at using the Gift wrapping and that's not really what my client wants.

I've looked at the Configurator, but I'm not re-entering 250+ products into the Configurator. (Unless I miss understand how it works)

Anyway...Since this client sells all kinds of hand made and wrapped candies, they want to give online customers the options of picking a "basket/box" to put all of the candy in and then ship it out. they do this now for anyone that walks in the store. The different boxes and baskets are going to be different sizes and prices.

I thought it would be a good idea to have the customer choose the option for the basket between the Shopping Cart and the Checkout Window. Else where on the site, "Don't forget your gift basket" would be plastered everywhere.

I can swear I've seen a mod for this before, but I'm not sure.

Any help would be appreciated!

The stock Configurator is not working for me to build Gift Baskets is there another way to do this?

This smacks of a custom modification to me. I don't know of any standard x-cart features that could be adapted to do this. You need to introduce another step to the checkout process, where the customer selects the basket before proceeding with shipping and payment options. I don't know of any mod or option for this anywhere.
