Default Adding HTML Home Page and connecting back to X-cart
This example was given below in a previous thread, interesting site by the way

I want to do exactly what that site has done. Create a new html home page that connects back to my online store www.saddleworldcanberra.com.au

Asela, can you help me with this? or anyone else?

Just use index.html - design it however you want. Then change your .htaccess file to this:

DirectoryIndex index.html home.php index.php

Really, is it that easy? that's it?

I want my index.html file to simply have a button link to "online store", so that link reference would be http://www.saddleworldcanberra.com.au/home.php", is that right?

What that will do is direct anyone who types just your domain to the index.html file. Then if you want to send users to the X-Cart home page, you would link them to home.php, yes.
