I have not used this mod... but it does seem to ignore some of the following things which are needed for SEO (reading their introduction this mod is purely URL rewrites and not full SEO).
i.e. this mod seems to ignore...
a) URL rewrite for manufacturers
b) metatags, meta descriptions etc. for each of the pages
c) 301 rewrites for when you change a URL later (so old URL redirects if someone has bookmarked it and uses that).

Jon's mod (found at www.websitecm.com ) does take account of these things - so I would tend to agree with Ashley on this...

Cheers - Asiaplay

Better use Power SEO mod

Download free trial and give it a try - takes very small time to implement, quick install, simple setup - works by default.

From reading this it seems it's possible to modify it as the key areas are open source. That's great if it lives up to those words

Exactly - you can add custom rules by yourself. It has examples on how to add new rules and also all existing rules for you to use as example or copy from.

Additionally there are 5 sets of url templates for you to chose from with 1 click of a mouse:

Use this option carefully - changing URL Template can affect your website SEO rankings

As Ashley and Asiaplay recommended your best bet hands down is CDSEO. SEO is not something to be taken lightly if you are serious about your web business.
