I am working with a new image for a logo and will be the company name in the photo. I have been working with it in photoshop and it looks great in photoshop. The problem is when I upload the gif and view it in the browser the edges of the text are ragged but look perfectly fine in photoshop.

Could someone give me a couple of pointers in what I am doing wrong with this image so that the lines of the text stay sharp and clear.

You need to assign a matte around it when you save it. Use the same background color it is going to sit on.
