Hi can you tell me which file and what code i need to remove to stop the following text appearing on the home page by default as the page looks unclean with it,i have done a search but there seems to be no info on this problem so any help is apreciated.
I need to remove the following text etc-
1 At the top of the page below my logo is the following text "New special offers are available."
2 A faint horizontal line across the page.
3 At the base of the page is the following text "Featured products there are no available featured products."

Thanks for that Balinor i have already read this guide but are still unable to find the required file, may be i am missing something.

Actually it does - it tells you where to start with both webmaster mode and the languages area. It also tells you taht the template that controls the home page is customer/main/welcome.tpl. If you look at that template, you see that it calls the featured products template, customer/main/featured.tpl. If you look at that template, you will see which language variables control the text that is displayed. See how that works? The template system is complicated, but if you follow the simple steps outlined in my template editing guide you'll quickly get the hang of it. You can also refer to the manuals.
