templates changing permissions.
Ok so I have had a few problems with certain templates giving me a permission denied when trying to edit or delete.
Now I was editing a template that I have edited numerous times this week including twice today, now it gives me a permission denied when I try to save the file after editing. Are my templates changing permissions some how? I am using dreamweaver for all my editing or tpl's and php. When I called my host they said the permissions were change to nobody for some reason and when they changed them to 666 or even 777 the site acts like the file is not there, I get errors saying that the file is not there when it is there according to ws_ftp. Can anyone help? |

Sounds like a hosted related issue, if your skin directory has a chmod of 777, there should be no need for the user.group that apache is running as on that particular directory because the last 7 means its world writeable so any user/group can read/write to it. I'd talk more with your host as it seems how they have their servers configured may be causing you grief.
hth.
