Default static pages and frames? eeeek

I'm trying to make a static embedded page that will run an off-site script, but will not take the user to the other site. I used frames in html for this before, but I'm not sure how to implement this in X-cart. Any ideas?

Thanks balinor, but could you please give me an example if <iframe> usage in my case.

It's not exactly my strong suit.

Thank you!

Much simpler than I expected.

The only thing that seem strange, is when I'm in static-page edit mode, it seems to constantly refresh. (not for the basic html page, but for the <iframe> page.

Has anyone experienced this?

You'll get lots of unexpected results with iframes, as they are not really used much anymore, or supported. Also remember that SE's won't count anything in an iframe towards your site's PR or content.

Hmm..so <iframes> are basically archaic? lol

Is there a better standard that would work?

Thanks for all your help.

As a general rule, you don't want to run or call ANYTHING from offsite, as it will generate problems when in https mode. Any way you can run the script locally?

No unfortunately..the script has to run remote. As of right now, I don't have to worry about https since I'm using only PayPal and I'm not using https for registration or anything else.

On the user side..the iframe works fine. It's only when editing the iframe page in the ACP where its constantly refreshing.

BTW balinor, would you please take a look at my post http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=38890 if you haven't already. It's in Program Logic. I need to get this figured out if possible.

Thanks in advance!
