Could anyone recommend a good UK based logo design company?

Seriously though, it depends on what style you prefer. These guys I've heard are good www.cleardesignuk.com though I've never had the opportunity to work with them before.

You may also want to consider hiring an individual designer rather than a "company". You will get a more personalized service. You may find designers in online design communities. Take your time and review portfolios because a "good logo design company" can be defined in so many ways, so make sure their portfolio suits your personal taste. That's 50% of the success of the project right there.

You can see about running a corporate contest on Worth1000.com - that way you get a great selection of logos to choose from, and it is relatively cheap compared to some companies.
